ALERT: Dictator Harry Reid is pushing a new rule to give liberals carte blanche power to pass any bill they want – whether the American people like it or not!
It’s obvious Harry Reid didn’t get the message in November. Instead, he’s launching a colossal power grab that will make it impossible for the GOP to filibuster many cases like liberal Supreme Court nominations. Reid’s pushing to change the filibuster rules this week to a simple majority of 51 instead of the original two thirds. This rule change would also make it easier for Dems to ram legislation through the Senate.
The liberals must be plotting to drop some pretty big legislative bombs on the new Congress, or they wouldn’t be itching to gag the opposition. Hopefully, they don’t have an ObamaCare 2 up their sleeve. Sen. John Thune (R-SD) said, “It would forever change the nature of the Senate and constitute a naked partisan power grab. Such a move would disrespect our bipartisan system and the will of the American people.”

Harry Reid is a bully and Congress is his playground. Too bad it’s not lunch money he’s after. Whenever a Republican tries to accomplish something, Reid just grabs one of his gang members to harass the lawmaker until they go away. If that doesn’t work, he’ll manipulate the rules of Congress until he can figure out a way to destroy his opposition.

I missed the middle section of Obama’s State of the Union address when I took a break to read “War and Peace,” but I gather he never got around to what I was hoping he’d say, which is: “What was I thinking?”
The national debt is $14 trillion, the Democrats won’t stop spending, and President Nero gave us a long gaseous speech about his Stradivarius.
I feel so Southern whenever I watch a Democrat give a State of the Union address — and not just because it makes me want to secede. Consternating the rest of the family, my Kentucky mother always talked back to the TV. I do it only when a Democrat is giving a speech.
And if liberals didn’t like Samuel Alito mouthing the words “not true,” they should be really happy I wasn’t in the House chamber Tuesday night.
All I kept hearing was, “Ann pays more.” That’s all I ever hear when Democrats start in with all that “investing.”

I agree with the liberal blogosphere- Obama’s State of the Union was “Reaganesque.” Well written and well delivered. Awe-inspiring. Except that it was all distortions, false promises, and bait and switch. Don’t believe a word. It was pure sales and marketing, with zero substance. It was the same old “Cash for Flunkers.” Failed programs renamed “investments” in order to sell the con.
Obama’s State of the Union reminds me of the Taco Bell lawsuit in the news this same week. California consumers are suing Taco Bell for calling an item on their menu a “beef taco.” The class-action lawsuit claims that the “beef taco” barely has any beef in it — less than 35% to be exact. Instead, the lawsuit claims it contains isolated oat product, binders and extenders.
Well, that beef taco would make Obama proud. There’s no meat in Obama’s product either. Obama knows his audience likes meat, so he mixes in a spoonful of meat, along with isolated oat product, binders, extenders and other assorted artificial rubbish that tastes a little like meat. He wins your support with the bait and switch. But there is no substance. Where’s the beef? When Obama is done with the Presidency, he has the perfect skills to serve as CEO of Taco Bell.
Obama’s real State of the Union is just more campaign payola. Can you imagine if we played a game of “What does he really mean?” Just substitute “wasted government spending and debt for the same old failed programs” every time Obama used the word “investment” in the State of the Union speech. That’s the unvarnished truth — without the sales and marketing, without the bait and switch.

Congrats, Jay. Remember, answering any question about debt and sustainability is an easy three-step process. First, acknowledge in terms as vaguely as possible that we’re near a “tipping point” before quickly steering the conversation back towards, say, high-speed rail. If the press corps won’t let you get away with that, acknowledge that the White House is always willing to have a conversation about “bipartisan solutions” but take care not to suggest any actual solutions yourself. And third, needless to say, be sure to finish by touting the “savings” in ObamaCare.
And if all that fails, pretend to be offended by something a Republican said. E.g., according to Bloomberg News, Michele Bachmann responded to Obama’s absolutely shameless call for a balanced budget in the SOTU by calling it “absolutely shameless.” Highly uncivil. You never see Democrats behaving like that, do you?
