On Thursday, Kansas Governor Sam Brownback received a letter from Federal Attorney General Eric Holder threatening action against the state should it enforce SB102 which Brownback signed into law last month.

The new law states, Any act, law, treaty, order, rule or regulation of the government of the United States which violates the second amendment to the constitution of the United States is null, void and unenforceable in the state of Kansas

The bill also provides for criminal penalties against federal agents who attempt to enforce specific federal laws on guns manufactured in the state of Kansas and sold within the state – as the state takes the position under the new law that the federal government does not “interstate commerce” authority over such items.
In his letter, Holder didn’t take too kindly to such a proposition.

Vet Abused, Disarmed By Cops Because ‘Polite’ Constitution Has No Place For Rights

In 2003, while serving in Iraq, then-1st Sgt. C.J. Grisham, left, and his interpreter handed out candy to children while touring Fallujah.

You have the right to bear arms — still relatively un-infringed in some States — unless, of course, agents of the state deem you are doing so in an impolite manner. A decorated veteran who was on a 10-mile hike with his 15-year-old son was illegally disarmed and arrested on a Texas county road for “rudely displaying a firearm.”

FOX News’ Todd Starnes reports that Army Master Sgt. C.J. Grisham was confronted and illegally disarmed of his AR-15 and .45 caliber pistol by the Temple Police Department, despite having the proper permits to publicly carry the weapons. The incident happened as the man and his son were hiking in a rural area known to be home to wild boars and cougars.

Grisham, who describes himself as a serious Constitutionalist and also recently gained notoriety for a blog post criticizing the President, maintains that he has no idea what caused officers to treat him in the manner in which they did.

Carson: White Liberals the Most Racist

Image: Carson: White Liberals the Most Racist

Dr. Ben Carson, neurosurgeon and director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Dr. Ben Carson on Tuesday accused critics of his stance on gay marriage of trying to completely shut down debate on the issue and called his white liberal critics “the most racist out there.”

In an appearance on the Mark Levin radio show, Carson said he represents an existential threat to gay marriage proponents, which is why attacks on his stance against gay marriage have been so vicious. “They need to shut me up, they need to get rid of me. They can’t find anything else to delegitimize me, so they take my words, misinterpret them, and try to make it seem that I’m a bigot,” he said.

After Levin asked him about white liberals, Carson, who is black, said, “They’re the most racist people there are because they put you in a little category, a box. How could you dare come off the plantation?”

Deneen Borelli: America’s New Rosa Parks

[American Spectator]

By Jeffrey Lord on 4.2.13 @ 6:09AM

Blacklash released in paperback as Dr. Ben Carson attacked by Johns Hopkins leftists.

If America were a bus, Deneen Borelli would be the new Rosa Parks.

Borelli is the very model of a human being, an African American and a woman who is just plain tired up to here at all of the back of the bus treatment dished by liberals — black and white alike — to conservatives who happen to be black.

Ms. Borelli has in a figurative sense, as Rosa Parks did in the original and literal sense, sat down in a seat reserved for liberals at the front of the American bus. She won’t get up, she isn’t moving and she most assuredly doesn’t care that liberals don’t like the fact.

And most assuredly, they don’t.

Discord and Disarray Won’t Help Obama Legacy

obama-real-agendaBarack Obama is said to believe that he can win the political fight over the sequester. That’s certainly the conventional wisdom.

And there is some evidence to support it. When you ask voters who will be to blame if the sequester occurs, Obama or “congressional Republicans,” they’re much more likely to say they’ll blame the latter.

Obama also comes out on top when you ask whether they will blame “Obama and congressional Democrats” or “congressional Republicans.” Voters are not always good predictors of their future attitudes.

Michigan Dem on right-to-work law: There will be blood

By: John Hayward

michigan-snyder-right-to-work-unions-425As protests against Michigan’s right-to-work laws swelled, pro-union Democrat legislator Douglas Geiss took to the state House floor – and Twitter – to promise violence.  “We are going to undo 100 years of labor relations,” said Geiss.  “And there will be blood. We will relive the Battle of the Overpass.”

The Battle of the Overpass was a 1937 clash between the United Auto Workers and security troops for the Ford Motor Company, in which dozens of union activists were beaten up.  It has long been considered one of the worst examples of corporate-stooge union busting.  Geiss is pulling the neat trick of threatening violence while casting his side as the victims.  Or, if you prefer another interpretation, he’s casting the right-to-work law as an act of “violence” against unions, which justifies whatever they choose to do when they “fight back.”

Union forces have already gotten frisky, storming the tent erected by right-to-work supporters Americans for Prosperity of Michigan and tearing it down.  Fortunately, no injuries from the attack were reported.

Democrats (Heart) Socialism

[American Spectator]

communism_vote-DemocratGallup bone-chillingly confirms what the party of government truly fancies.

On  the strength of a capitalist economic system, America created a material standard of living for the world to envy while providing its citizens with high levels of personal freedom. But today capitalism, and attendant freedom, are being systematically dismantled in America (and being depth-charged in Europe), while understanding and appreciation of these things are receding. Gallup provides proof of this, and confirms conservatives’ fears and suspicions.

Loyal elves in the media wing of the Democratic Party establishment — aka the mainstream media — hyperventilate when Barack Obama is identified as a socialist, or the Democratic Party is accused of promoting socialist policies. “Vile and unfair accusations,” they wail, before retiring to their fainting couches.

But if a survey released last week by Gallup is any indication, it’s hard to see what all the indignation is about. A majority of people — 53 percent — who describenewsweek-dems-socialism themselves as Democrats or leaning Democrat, admit to Gallup’s pulse takers that they have a positive image of socialism. Only two percent more — 55 — say they are positive about capitalism. A robust 75 percent of Democrats say they have a positive image of the federal government.

Report: ATF review board recommends firings over Fast and Furious

ATF-Review-BoardFour senior managers who oversaw the ill-fated federal gun-tracking probe called “Fast and Furious” will be fired if recommendations from a disciplinary panel are accepted.

People familiar with the matter said the Professional Review Board of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives sent notices of its decision in recent days to bureau managers, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.

In addition, two lower-level employees face disciplinary actions, short of firing. The move from the ATF’s review board is the first step in what could be a months-long process, including appeals.

‘When Obama Goes to Hell,’ GOP Official Says, He’ll Claim ‘This Is All Bush’s Fault’

[Newsbusters.org]

By Randy Hall | November 21, 2012

Here’s another sterling example of the premise that liberals have no sense of humor.

Virginia Republican Official Bob FitzSimmonds had no idea what was going to happen when he stated in a Facebook posting on Wednesday that “When Obama is 90 years old and he dies and goes to Hell, he is going to say ‘This is all Bush’s fault’!”

Of course, members of the GOP instantly recognized the post as a joke referring to the claim often made by the president and his fellow Democrats that everything bad that happened during Obama’s first term was the fault of the previous occupant of the White House, Republican George W. Bush.

As you might expect, the comment drew heated responses from both sides of the political aisle on that social networking site.

Ben Marchi said that the remark was “completely inappropriate” even when made in jest, and Karen Hand Mason noted that whether or not Obama goes to Hell is “God’s decision.”

“This is a good example of how far our country has gone,” wrote Muneer Baig. “People have been so blinded by politics that they are treating themselves as Gods and passing judgment over others.

“May God help us and our country and help us to see beyond the fake walls we have ourselves created around us,” he added.

Reagan: Gov’t Claiming ‘I’m Here To Help’ The ‘Most Terrifying Words In The English Language’

[CNSNews.com]

November 15, 2012

Today, The Drudge Report ran a headline (“I’m Here To Fix It”) about Pres. Obama’s promise to Hurricane Sandy victims in New York, and it reminded me of Pres. Reagan’s famous warning.

“We’ve got some work to do and I want you to know I’m here to do it,” Pres. Obama promised while standing in front of a church in storm-torn New York, The Weekly Standard reports in its article titled, “Obama, In Front Of Church Devastated By Sandy: ‘I’m Here’ To Fix It.”

Both headlines reminded me of Pres. Ronald Reagan’s famous warning to Americans about the dangers of government “help”:

“The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

Thank you to our defenders of freedom

It is with great respect, admiration and deep understanding that I write this letter to honor each and every Veteran that has served or is serving our blessed Country! I understand and appreciate all who have given so much for me, so that I could enjoy my daily freedoms.

I was able to sleep well in the safety of my bed last night, because you served.

I was able to pray before my meal this morning in a public place without fearing arrest, because you gave.

I am able to freely speak my mind and voice my opinion without fear of retaliation against me or my family, because you cared.

I am able to stand up for what I believe in and not have a Dictators thoughts and opinions forced down my throat, because you stood up to the call to defend.

I am free to worship the one true God who created me in His image, because you were selfless in your actions.

To each one of you I speak from the bottom of my heart when I say Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are my heroes and I want to remember and honor you this Veterans Day. Not a single day goes by that I don’t think of the sacrifices you and your families have given!

Romney’s success on foreign policy has thus far have evolved towards good reviews. He has drawn widespread praise from conservatives and fellow Republicans for his full support of Israel’s quest to stop Iran from achieving nuclear capability.

TAMPA, Fla. — Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice rallied the GOP faithful at the Republican National Convention with a barn-burner speech Wednesday night.

The only speaker of the convention thus far to take the podium without the assistance of a teleprompter, Rice spoke of the challenges facing the country, both foreign and domestic, and the need for a leader.

Commencing with an anecdote about the events of Sept. 11, 2001, Rice transitioned to the economic crisis and turmoil abroad. She pointed out that around the world people ask “Where does America stand?” only to find that the answer is ambiguous. To Rice, the country is in need of leadership.

“I know too that there is a weariness I know there is a sense that we have carried these burdens long enough,” she said, noting that the country has no other choice by to be a leader, because “either nobody will lead and there will be chaos or someone else will who does not share our values. We do not have a choice. We cannot be reluctant to lead — and you cannot lead from behind.” Rice asserted that Romney and Ryan are the ones who can lead.

RNC Protester Arrested Carrying Machete

[Breitbart.com]

by Breitbart News – August 26, 2012

Police arrested a Tallahassee man protesting at the Republican National Convention for carrying a machete into the Event Zone.

According to authorities, Jason T. Wilson had a “full size” machete (pictured left) strapped to his leg at a Sunday protest.

When deputies approached Wilson, they said he continued to walk away despite orders to stop.

“When deputies caught up to Wilson, he advised he did not have to stop and that he was allowed to carry whatever he wanted,” HCSO spokesperson Larry McKinnon said.

When deputies attempted to physically stop him, Wilson allegedly began resisting arrest and was physically restrained.

The police have not connected Wilson to any particular organization or entity protesting at the RNC.

Although formally organized left-wing protesters promise “non-violent” tactics, they plan to disrupt businesses and not cooperate with police investigating other protesters who may damage property or harass private citizens. An anonymous individual threatened to “legitimately rape” conservative activists Brandon Darby and Lee Stranahan at the convention.

What’s Wrong With This Anti-Romney Birther Airplane Banner?

[TheBlaze.com]

Image source: CBS News’ Jan Crawford, via Twitter @JanCBS

One day after Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney quipped that “no one’s ever ever asked to see” his birth certificate, a plane towed a banner over his Ohio rally declaring “America is better” than “birtherism.”

The problem? The banner contained an elementary grammatical error: It used “then” instead of “than.”

The Obama campaign rolled out similar “birther” accusations Friday, including producing a 16-second web video saying the country doesn’t need a “birther-in-chief.”

While there’s nothing to suggest the Obama campaign had anything to do with the banner, it‘s not the first typo to befall the president’s re-election effort this week:

A photo of him posing with several students to spell out “O-H-I-O” swapped the “H” and the “I” for “O-I-H-O.”

In Iowa face-off, Ryan hammers jobs message as Obama employs drought politics

[FoxNews.com]

Published August 13, 2012

Paul Ryan used his first solo campaign swing as Mitt Romney’s running mate Monday to hammer President Obama as a jobs killer, forcefully echoing Romney’s message, while Obama used a pair of nearby campaign stops to accuse Ryan of hurting drought-stricken farmers.

Ryan was dispatched to Iowa by team Romney to challenge the president as Obama kicked off a three-day bus tour across the Hawkeye State.

Ryan, a Wisconsin congressman, was occasionally interrupted by hecklers during a speech at the Iowa State Fair but stuck to a meat-and-potatoes message of jobs and the deficit.

“As you see the president come through on his bus tour, you might ask him the same question that I’m getting asked from people all around America, and that is, ‘Where are the jobs Mr. President?’” Ryan said in Des Moines.

We, the Unhyphenated Americans: Meet My People

[Michelle Malkin.com]

August 5, 2012

My fellow Americans, who are “your people”? I ask because U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who is black, used the phrase “my people” in congressional testimony this week. It was an unmistakably color-coded and exclusionary reference intended to deflect criticism of the Obama Justice Department’s selective enforcement policies. It backfired.

In pandering to skin-deep identity politics and exacerbating race-consciousness, Holder has given the rest of us a golden opportunity to stand up, identify “our people” and show the liberal poseurs what post-racialism really looks like.

Herman Cain is my people. He’s my brother-in-arms. I’ve never met him. But we are family. We are kin because we are unhyphenated Americans who are comfortable in the black, brown and yellow skin we are in. We are growing in numbers — on college campuses, in elected office, on the Internet, on radio airwaves, everywhere. And that drives liberals mouth-frothing crazy.

Exclusive – The Vetting – Obama Praised Private Equity When He Needed Cash

[Breitbart.com]

Posted:  July 2, 2012 – Written by John Sexton

President Barack Obama has attacked Gov. Mitt Romney’s record in the private equity industry as CEO of Bain Capital. But ten years ago, as he struggled to raise funds for his long-shot U.S. Senate campaign, then-State Senator Obama decided to embrace the private equity industry and its wealthy Chicago political donors. At one point, Obama even co-sponsored a resolution in the Illinois Senate calling calling private equity firms like Bain “the best opportunity for long-term economic vitality” and for “the creation of jobs.”

Obama’s campaign ads dismissively compare Romney’s work at Bain to that of a “vampire” draining jobs and money from vulnerable companies and workers. After pushback from a handful of pro-free market Democrats in late May, the President himself publicly defended his campaign’s attacks on private equity firms like Bain.

But records from Obama’s time as a state senator in Illinois, along with recollections of those who worked with him, present a very different stance. They indicate that Obama worked hard to position himself as a strong supporter of the venture capital industry. Obama attended industry social functions and used his position in the state senate to propose bills consistent with the legislative goals of the venture capital industry in the state.

“The Barack Obama I knew in Springfield was very pro-private equity, private capital, and high technology” Republican State Senator Kirk Dillard, who served with Obama in the Illinois State Senate, said in a telephone interview with Breitbart News about Obama’s record last week. “Mr. Obama clearly had many friends in the private equity business when he was a legislator,” Dillard added.

Cocky, Condescending Journalists Declared ObamaCare Would Be Upheld, Maybe by a 8-1 Vote

[Newsbusters.org]

Scott Whitlock's picture

Although no one knows how the Supreme Court will rule, Thursday, on ObamaCare, journalists over the past few months have dismissed and derided the concept that the President’s signature legislation could be declared unconstitutional. CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin predicted an eight-to-one vote upholding the law. Former New York Times Court reporter Linda Greenhouse said that Americans who think the law is unconstitutional are “wrong.”

Appearing on the March 23 Situation Room, Toobin hyped, “I actually think that Chief Justice Roberts and perhaps even Justice Scalia and Justice Alito might join Justice Kennedy in upholding the law.” He added, “In striking this law down, it would really be a big change in constitutional law, and I’m not sure this court is ready to do it.”

On March 19, Toobin appeared on Starting Point and rejected the anti-ObamaCare argument as  “weak”:

ANCHOR SOLEDAD O’BRIEN: So the bottom line is, is making people buy health insurance a legitimate use of the power of Congress?

JEFFREY TOOBIN: Correct, and the challengers in these laws have said, ‘No, this is not something Congress can do.’ What I wrote in The New Yorker this week, what I think is that basically that is a really weak argument, in that the United States Congress has been regulating health care for years, has been involved in this market for years, and this is a perfectly ordinary use of Congress’s power.

(Once he heard oral arguments, Toobin reversed himself. The journalist declared the Obama position a “train wreck” and suggested it would be shot down.)

The Difference Between Wide Receiver; Fast and Furious [Marked difference!]

[FrontPorchPolitics.com]

Written on June 23, 2012 at 8:15 am by

While the White House, Eric Holder, and the liberal talking heads continue blaming Bush for the Obama administrations fumbles in the Fast and Furious gun walking operation gone bad, they cannot see the distinct difference between operation Wide Receiver and operation Fast and Furious. The differences are fairly profound and distinct.

The main differences are these: Wide Receiver involved Phoenix-based ATF agents, working with Mexican law enforcement in an attempt to build a case against violent Mexican drug smugglers. Fast and Furious on the other hand was an effort to make a case against American gun dealers and the Second Amendment of the United States. Both were orchestrated by their respective administrations with completely different goals. One was to go after criminals and the other was to go after the Constitution and law abiding citizens.

Fawning NBC Hypes Obama’s Immigration Pander: ‘Young People’ ‘Cheered’

NBC’s Nightly News on Friday offered a one-sided segment touting Barack Obama’s decision to lift the threat of deportation to young people who came to America illegally. The Pete Williams report featured six clips of individuals or groups thrilled by the reaction, only two against and one nuanced response by Mitt Romney. The other networks followed a similar pattern.

Williams began by touting, “Young people covered by the new policy cheered the announcement outside the White House.” An unidentified woman enthused, “I can’t describe it. It’s so amazing. I’m so happy.” A crowd in front of the White House chanted, “Yes, we did! Yes, we did! Yes, we did! Yes, we did!”

The NBC correspondent’s segment was heavily weighted with people who applauded the decision:

JANET NAPOLITANO (Homeland Security Secretary): They’ve grown up here, they speak the language here, they’ve stayed out of trouble here. They’re getting their education here. They have wonderful talents to contribute to our country.
