A state lawmaker in Maryland has asked the FBI to impound two voting machines used in the 2012 election to determine whether there was a malfunction or something nefarious going on.

“I just feel it is my duty to try to get to the bottom of this,” state Delegate Kathryn Afzali told WND today. “We’re not making any accusations. The Board of Elections are good people. They have checks and balances … but we want to make sure everything is fair.”

She said a number of people contacted her after the Nov. 6 election to report that they pressed a touch-screen button for GOP candidate Mitt Romney, but the vote registered for Barack Obama.

‘When Obama Goes to Hell,’ GOP Official Says, He’ll Claim ‘This Is All Bush’s Fault’

[Newsbusters.org]

By Randy Hall | November 21, 2012

Here’s another sterling example of the premise that liberals have no sense of humor.

Virginia Republican Official Bob FitzSimmonds had no idea what was going to happen when he stated in a Facebook posting on Wednesday that “When Obama is 90 years old and he dies and goes to Hell, he is going to say ‘This is all Bush’s fault’!”

Of course, members of the GOP instantly recognized the post as a joke referring to the claim often made by the president and his fellow Democrats that everything bad that happened during Obama’s first term was the fault of the previous occupant of the White House, Republican George W. Bush.

As you might expect, the comment drew heated responses from both sides of the political aisle on that social networking site.

Ben Marchi said that the remark was “completely inappropriate” even when made in jest, and Karen Hand Mason noted that whether or not Obama goes to Hell is “God’s decision.”

“This is a good example of how far our country has gone,” wrote Muneer Baig. “People have been so blinded by politics that they are treating themselves as Gods and passing judgment over others.

“May God help us and our country and help us to see beyond the fake walls we have ourselves created around us,” he added.

Obama even issued a memo

My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government. Voter fraud monitors on high alert for Election Day

With Election Day polls set to open in mere hours, those monitoring the vote for fraud and funny business are already on high alert.

Late last month, the state of Florida raised flags after strange letters started to go out telling voters that their citizenship was being questioned and that voting could expose them to possible jail time.

Then in Ohio, Nevada and other battlegrounds, reports surfaced of voters trying to make their choice for president on touch-screen machines only to see the machine register a different candidate. Typically, they voted for Mitt Romney and the machine marked President Obama.

Among the latest allegations is that NAACP workers showed up at a polling site in Houston “electioneering” for Obama and refused to leave — though the NAACP adamantly denies it.

The incident was detailed by a poll watcher for the group True the Vote. In a written statement, monitor Eve Rockford claimed NAACP representatives arrived at the Houston site Friday afternoon “with probably 50 cases of bottled water” and began handing them out to voters.

Romney rips Obama on ‘voting is the best revenge’ remark in new ad

[TheHill.com]

By Cameron Joseph – 11/03/12 10:02 AM ET

Watch the ad:

Mitt Romney’s campaign has released an ad attacking President Obama’s recent remarks that “voting is the best revenge,” a comment Romney has jumped on in his final days on the trail.

The ad features Obama’s remarks on the campaign trail — and Romney’s response from the stump.

After a crowd at an Obama rally on Friday booed Romney, the president cut in. “Don’t boo, vote. Vote. Voting is the best revenge,” he said.

Romney pounced on the remark. “Did you see what President Obama said today? He asked his supporters to vote for revenge,” he said. “Instead I ask the American people to vote for love of country.”

The campaign did not say where the ad is running, and it’s unclear where they’d be able to get it on the air before the election since few television stations book new commercial time on weekends.

Breaking: Heinz CEO Bill Johnson: Re-Electing Obama Would Be The Very Definition of Insanity

[Time To Choose WordPress]

As Einstein said, doing things the same way and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

~ Bill Johnson, CEO Heinz Foods, on re-electing President Obama.

By Gary P Jackson

Tuesday afternoon on, Your World with Neil Cavuto, Neil talked with Heinz CEO Bill Johnson about the effects of Hurricane Sandy. During the interview Neil asks Johnson about President Obama’s performance during this crisis.

Johnson is diplomatic, saying most presidents rise to the occasion, and Obama is no different, but then goes on to say the President’s actions now have little do do with his poor performance during the last four years. Johnson goes on to quote Einstein’s definition of insanity regarding the notion of Obama’s re-election.

‘Politics of insult’ alive and well despite Obama’s 2008 lament

[FoxNews.com]

Published October 29, 2012

Four years ago, then-candidate Barack Obama decried what he described as [childish lies and] the politics of insult.”

“You don’t deserve a bunch of name-calling,” he told a Virginia crowd in the summer of 2008. “You don’t deserve a bunch of mudslinging.”

But lately, there have been more than a few insults flying on the 2012 campaign trail. Whether it’s with cute turns of phrase like “Romnesia” or more serious invective, the president’s campaign has gotten increasingly aggressive over the last few weeks in its denunciation of Mitt Romney.

The tone likely reflects the polls, which have been tightening ever since the Republican nominee’s opening debate performance. Whatever the reason, it’s evident that the “politics of insult” have not faded.

The following were overheard on the 2012 campaign trail:

“Bullsh–ter”

The president took a rip at Romney after a recent interview with Rolling Stone. In the article, published over the weekend, writer and historian Douglas Brinkley said that editor Eric Bates told the president that when he asked his six-year-old daughter if she wanted to say anything to Obama, she said: “Tell him: You can do it.”

Texas AG Tells International Election Monitors to Butt Out

(CNSNews.com) – The head of an international body that will monitor the U.S. elections next month protested to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Wednesday after Texas’ attorney-general warned that any international observer who approaches a polling station in the state risks criminal prosecution.

“The threat of criminal sanctions … is unacceptable,” said Janez Lenarcic, the Slovenian diplomat who heads the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), a part of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

“The United States, like all countries in the OSCE, has an obligation to invite ODIHR observers to observe its elections,” he said in a statement. It added that he “shared his concerns in a letter” to Clinton.

Lenarcic was responding to a letter sent by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott to the ODIHR Tuesday informing it that “groups and individuals from outside the United States are not allowed to influence or interfere with the election process in Texas.”

WHITE HOUSE INSIDER: The Only Way Obama Wins This Election Is To Steal It

[TheUlstermanReport.com]

(The sound of ominous thunder now hangs over the Obama White House)

As Benghazi news reports now pummel down upon the head of President Barack Obama, a longtime D.C. political operative who has spent the past three years attempting to correct the mistake that was the 2008 election,  declares in this brief communication that the only way Obama can now be allowed a second term is if he steals the 2012 election.

Ulsterman:  Can you confirm the Benghanzi news reports?  The emails?  Was this the breaking story you referenced earlier?  Is momentum still with Romney?  How does Obama try to win this?  Or does he?  Please respond ASAP.  I’ve kept quiet as requested.  Now with media openly reporting on the emails I am hoping to get feedback directly from you again.     -UM

WHI:  Which question  you want answered?  You got a list there.

UM:  You choose.

WHI:  Benghazi story now breaking out even bigger.  As promised.  I was pissed the governor did not push the issue during last debate.  Now I understand. I was not in the loop on that but that’s ok.  Very smart move by the campiagn.  Don’t count on media falling over themselves to make this a headline though.  That will be done with them kicking and screaming.  And read that first report carefully.  And then smile.  The Old Man made this happen.  At least some of it. It’s pretty much spelled out in first report.  He’s got to have logged about 30,000 miles in the last month alone.  Don’t know how he’s doing it healthwise.  But he is.  Thank God.

Priebus asks for FBI investigation of Obama’s online donations

The Republican National Committee is spotlighting campaign-season worries that Team Obama is in covertly violating campaign laws by accepting online donations from foreigners.

Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, announced today he’s asking Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate the president’s fund-raising system.

“The President’s campaign committee does not use the industry standard practices to guard against receiving fraudulent or excessive contributions via the internet… I therefore call on the Department of Justice to investigate this troubling pattern of behavior by the President’s campaign,’ said Priebus in a Oct. 11 letter to Holder.

The request follows an investigation by the Government Accountability Institute, which highlighted the campaign’s low-grade anti-fraud measures, the large amount of online traffic between the campaign’s fundraising pages and overseas Internet users, plus foreigners’ claims they had donated to the campaign.

Time to Investigate the Bureau of Labor Statistics

American [Spectator.org]

By on 10.10.12 @ 6:10AM

What’s with the Household Survey’s miraculous spurt of 873,000 new jobs?

Who needs the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), when you have Rush Limbaugh? Limbaugh predicted almost a year ago that the unemployment rate reported last Friday would fall below 8% for the first time since Obama entered office. Limbaugh by his own admission is no economist. So how did he know? Maybe because we are in the realm of politics now, rather than economics.

How Stupid Do They Think We Are?

The BLS reported last Friday that the economy in September created all of 114,000 net new jobs, just 104,000 in the private sector. To give you some context for how great that is, the working age population increased by 206,000 in September. With a labor force participation rate normal for the fourth year of a recovery (where we are right now), just keeping pace with that population growth would require 138,000 new jobs, before we can even start to reduce the unemployment rate.

Video: Obama House Of Cards Could Collapse With Donor Scandal

[ImpeachObamaCampaign.com]

October 6, 2012

A scandal that is being blamed for Obama’s poor performance at the presidential debate has been seething on social media since late Thursday night.

The Washington Examiner reports that an extensive investigation into the Obama campaign’s donations—specifically illegal donations from overseas—is due to be reported on by an unnamed national magazine in the next few days.

Will this be the scandal that will derail the Obama campaign?

Do the alleged overseas donations have anything to do with the illegal Russian money that poured into the Obama campaign in 2008?

Was Obama paid off with Russian money to be “more flexible” with Russia in regards to U.S. missile defense systems?

Every Governor a Walker

THE TAX AND SPEND SPECTATOR

Republicans control 24 states. Where are the rest of our Scott Walkers and Bobby Jindals?

IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS, the governor of Wisconsin has reformed public sector unions so that they can no longer withhold union dues from every worker’s paycheck; ended teacher tenure; required government employee unions to be re-certified each year; signed legislation that made Wisconsin the 41st state with “shall issue” concealed carry; cut over $800 million from the state budget; and expanded parental choice in education by removing the 22,500-student cap on the Milwaukee Parental Choice program and extending the program to include the city of Racine. The governor of Louisiana, elected in 2007 and re-elected last year, has helped usher Republican majorities into the state house and senate; signed legislation that gives more than half of the state’s students (380,000 out of 700,000 total) a voucher for the amount the state government spends per pupil; signed a strict ethics law; and moved government worker pensions to a blend of defined contribution and defined benefit.

But Scott Walker and Bobby Jindal are only two of 29 Republican governors. They are only two of 24 Republican governors who enjoy the company of Republican-controlled state legislatures. In theory, in two dozen states for 2011 and most of 2012, if the Republican governor, house speaker, and senate leader could agree on any particular reform, it would be the law of the land now. Why are we not reading about the groundbreaking Reaganite agendas passing in 24 states? Why are we not hearing the howls of the labor union bosses and trial lawyers in two dozen states?

US officials knew Libya attack was terrorism within 24 hours, sources confirm

[FoxNews.com]

Published September 27, 2012

U.S. intelligence officials knew within 24 hours of the assault on the U.S. Consulate in Libya that it was a terrorist attack and suspected Al Qaeda-tied elements were involved, sources told Fox News — though it took the administration a week to acknowledge it.

The account sharply conflicts with claims on the Sunday after the attack by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice that the administration believed the strike was a “spontaneous” event triggered by protests in Egypt over an anti-Islam film.

Two senior U.S. officials said that the Obama administration internally labeled the attack terrorism from the first day in order to unlock and mobilize certain resources to respond, and that officials were looking for one specific suspect. The officials said the intelligence community knew by Sept. 12 that the militant Ansar al-Shariah and Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb were likely behind the strike.

Further, an official said, “No one … believed that the mortars, indirect and direct fire, and the RPGs were just the work of a mob — no one.”

Yet a congressional source told Fox News that CIA Director David Petraeus, during a briefing with members of the House Intelligence Committee three days after the attack, espoused the view that Benghazi was an out-of-control demonstration prompted by the YouTube video. According to the source, this was “shocking” to some members who were present and saw the same intelligence pointing toward a terrorist attack.

Fraud concerns swirl around Florida’s unregulated absentee ballot brokers ahead of election

[FoxNews.com]

Published September 26, 2012

absentee ballot dropbox.jpg AP

Recent allegations of absentee ballot fraud in Florida have shined a light on the shadowy work of so-called “boleteros” – absentee ballot brokers who, in some cases, have been accused of cajoling, bribing and even forging the names of unsuspecting voters.

The most recent claim involves Florida Gov. Rick Scott, who hired an alleged “boletero” for his 2010 campaign. In Scott’s case, the campaign claims it did nothing wrong and indeed nobody has been charged. But the claim follows the arrest of a boletero in a separate case, and coincides with a wave of coverage and attention in the Miami-Dade, Fla., area surrounding what for authorities is an illicit practice.

Boleteros — translated roughly to mean ticket-person — assist in collecting absentee ballots and helping primarily elderly and disabled voters in filling them out. This can be entirely lawful, but sometimes these workers walk a fine legal line.

For many boleteros, it can be a profitable enterprise – with some guaranteeing votes in exchange for money, authorities say. They are particularly prominent in heavily Republican Spanish-speaking communities, like Hialeah.

Under Florida law, it is legal to assist voters in ensuring their absentee ballots are properly mailed. But it’s illegal to influence voters, request ballots on behalf of someone else and forge signatures. The state no longer requires witness signatures on absentee ballots, officials note, and many of the boleteros will illegally “follow the ballots all through the process.”

“This is a dirty business and unfortunately it’s become pretty common.”

- Joe Centerino, director of Miami-Dade’s Ethics Commission

Police Consolidation: The End of Local Law Enforcement?

[TheNewAmerican.com]

Written by  Joe Wolverton, II, J.D.

From Bergen, New Jersey, to St. Louis, Missouri, to Salt Lake City, Utah, the merging of law enforcement moves along, applauded by a coterie of city leaders and well-meaning citizens.

Nationwide, towns and cities are jumping on the consolidation bandwagon. According to the latest data, there are about 18,000 state and local law-enforcement agencies in the United States. Of those, more than 150 have undergone some level of consolidation.

Those pushing for the consolidation of police forces into regional or metropolitan agencies typically cite budget shortfalls as the best reason for closing down local forces and combining resources to form a consolidated force.

As Carney labels Libya strike terrorism, Obama continues to cite anti-Islam film

[FoxNews.com]

Published September 20, 2012

After the White House for the first time Thursday explicitly called the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya an act of terror, President Obama ducked an opportunity to clear up the confusion about the ever-changing narrative — appearing to hold firm to the story that an anti-Islam film was to blame.

The president spoke Thursday at a town hall hosted by the Spanish-language Univision. He declined to get into specifics, even as lawmakers said after an intelligence briefing that there clearly was “some pre-planning” in last week’s deadly attack.

Instead, Obama launched into an explanation about how the U.S. saw something it’s seen before, where “there is an offensive video or cartoon directed at the Prophet Muhammad” and that is used “as an excuse by some to carry out inexcusable violent acts” against the U.S.

Obama stressed that we’re “still doing an investigation” and said he didn’t know whether Al Qaeda was involved.

Exclusive – Sarah Palin: Did Joe McGinniss Condemn an Innocent Man?

[Breitbart.com]

by Sarah Palin 17 Sep 2012, 7:29 AM PDT

I don’t normally read “true crime” books, and I’ve certainly never written a review of one, but Errol Morris’ new book, “A Wilderness of Error,” isn’t typical of the genre. It’s much more interesting and I think important. It’s a book about the failings of a legal system administered by very fallible human beings, and it’s a book about how we buy into false media narratives that tidy up uncomfortably complex stories and give us permission to call off any further search for truth – and, yes, Morris argues with refreshing clarity that objective truth is real and worthy of being sought after despite the pretentious nonsense preached in faculty lounges about all truth being relative. In fact, he argues passionately that the search for truth is what journalism and justice is all about.

Morris describes how false narratives can become a sort of prison. He opens by reminding us of the story of “The Count of Monte Cristo” – the novel about an innocent man who escapes from the seemingly inescapable island prison he was sent to. Morris writes that today we have an even worse prison than that fictional one – only ours is “built out of newsprint and media. A prison of beliefs. You can escape from prison, but how do you escape from a convincing story? After enough repetitions, the facts come to serve the story and not the other way around. Like kudzu, suddenly the story is everywhere and impenetrable.”

U.S. Department of Education: 79% of Chicago 8th Graders Not Proficient in Reading

[CNSNews.com]

By Terence P. Jeffrey

September 10, 2012

Chicago Public Schools – [Editor:  Here's a statistic I just heard from Rush.  The average salary for a teacher in Chicago is $76, 000 Per Year excluding bennies. The average citizen in Chicago makes $48,000 Per Year.  AND THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH A WHOPPING 16% RAISE!  Also, 71 cents out of every new dollar taxes goes towards Public Union Pensions.  Is that fair? Is it "social justice" when all this money produces results indicated in this story?]

(AP Photo)

(CNSNews.com) – Seventy-nine percent of the 8th graders in the Chicago Public Schools are not grade-level proficient in reading, according to the U.S. Department of Education, and 80 percent are not grade-level proficient in math.

Chicago public school teachers went on strike on Monday and one of the major issues behind the strike is a new system Chicago plans to use for evaluating public school teachers in which student improvement on standardized tests will count for 40 percent of a teacher’s evaluation. Until now, the evaluations of Chicago public school teachers have been based on what a Chicago Sun Times editorial called a “meaningless checklist.”

In 2011, the U.S. Department of Education administered National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) tests in reading and math to students around the country, including in the Chicago Public Schools. The tests were scored on a scale of 0 to 500, with 500 being the best possible score. Based on their scores, the U.S. Department of Education rated students’ skills in reading and math as either “below basic,” “basic,” “proficient” or “advanced.”

In fact, as of the close of business Wednesday, withdrawals from the Treasury equaled $10,201,615,000,000 for fiscal 2012, which began on Oct. 1, 2011 and will end on Sept. 30.

According to the Daily Treasury Statement–the official daily accounting sheet for the federal government—withdrawals from the Treasury exceeded $10 trillion this year on Aug. 30, when they rose from $9.903 trillion to $10.035 trillion.

Convention floor erupts as Dems restore references to God, Jerusalem in platform

The floor of the Democratic National Convention erupted Wednesday over a sudden move to restore to the platform a reference to “God” and recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital — after heavy criticism from Republicans for initially omitting them.

Democrats, though, were hardly in agreement over the reversal.

A large and loud group of delegates shouted “no” as convention chairman, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, called for the vote late Wednesday afternoon. Villaraigosa had to call for the vote three times before ruling that the “ayes” had it. Many in the crowd booed after he determined the language would be restored.

Budget cuts to silence military buglers, replaced with recorded renditions of Taps at New York funerals

As budget cuts are set to silence live performances of Taps at military funerals in New York, one military bugler told FoxNews.com the iconic musical piece should always be performed by an Honor Guard musician.

Jari Villanueva, director of the Maryland National Guard Honor Guard and a bugler at thousands of military funerals, said having a phony hornsman hold up an instrument while a recording plays isn’t befitting of the somber task of burying a veteran. Yet, the piped-in version is what mourners will hear at virtually all New York military funerals beginning Oct. 1, due to a 25 percent reduction in federal funding for the state’s Military Forces Honor Guard.

Occupy Wall Street Shows up at DNC, Bashes Obama

CHARLOTTE – The Occupy Wall Street movement has materialized in zombified form near the venues of the Democratic National Convention. In Marshall Park, a leafy city property complete with a shallow pond, a camp of approximately 50 tents has sprung up in typical Occupy fashion. It’s not as developed as some of the camps that appeared during the “American Autumn” but its occupants are cantankerous and disappointed with President Obama, much as they were almost a year ago.

When I visited their encampment, they were mustering for a march that focused on Bradley Manning and unmanned drone strikes. The Occupiers were maneuvering a close to life-sized replica of an unmanned drone that they would later parade through the police-lined streets like the statue of a saint on a Catholic feast day.

“People like Obama garnered support from a lot of people when he was running. Once he got into office he basically turned his back on the working class. He said he was gonna end the wars, he escalated the war in Afghanistan, he continued use of mercenaries in Iraq, he said he was gonna close down Gitmo. He hasn’t done that,” said Travis Cummins, 27, of Mobile, Alabama.

Liberalism, as we know it

WASHINGTON — With Americans, on average, worth less and earning less than when he was inaugurated, Barack Obama is requesting a second term by promising, or perhaps threatening, that prosperity is just around the corner if he can practice four more years of trickle-down government. This is dubious policy, scattering borrowed money in the hope that this will fill consumers and investors with confidence. But recently Obama revealed remarkable ambitions for it when speaking in Pueblo, Colo., a pleasant place Democratic presidents should avoid.

After delivering in Pueblo what would be his last extended speech, Woodrow Wilson suffered a collapse that prefaced his disabling stroke. And in Pueblo this summer, Obama announced what should be a disqualifying aspiration.

After a delusional proclamation — General Motors “has come roaring back” — Obama said: “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.” We have been warned.
