Like Warren, Obama Claims Cherokee Ancestry–But Offers No Proof

[Breitbart.com]

President Barack Obama and Massachusetts Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren have more in common than just their liberal political ideology, Harvard Law pedigree, and Democratic Party affiliation. Both claim Cherokee ancestry, and neither can prove it.

Ms. Warren’s claims are current and well known, but President Obama’s claims were made back in 1995, when his memoir, Dreams from My Father, was published. On pages 12 and 13 of the 2004 paperback edition, the President unequivocally asserts his Cherokee ancestry:

If asked, Toot [Obama’s maternal grandmother, Madelyne Payne Dunham] would turn her head in profile to show off her beaked nose, which, along with a pair of jet-black eyes, was offered as proof of Cherokee blood.

Elizabeth Warren’s Embattled Campaign: Cherokee Tie Found 5 Generations Ago

Desperately scrambling to validate Democrat Elizabeth Warren’s Native American heritage amid questions about whether she used her minority status to further her career, the Harvard Law professor’s campaign last night finally came up with what they claim is a Cherokee connection — her great-great-great-grandmother.

“She would be 1⁄32nd of Elizabeth Warren’s total ancestry,” noted genealogist Christopher Child said, referring to the candidate’s great-great-great-grandmother, O.C. Sarah Smith, who is listed on an Oklahoma marriage certificate as Cherokee. Smith is an ancestor on Warren’s mother’s side, Child said.

The missing link comes after Warren’s embattled campaign faced sharp questions about her Native American background in the wake of Herald stories that showed both Harvard Law School and Warren herself had touted her tribal lineage and claimed she was a member of a minority for years.

Warren’s shaken campaign faced another crisis yesterday when it was revealed that beginning in 1986 and continuing through 1995, Warren had listed herself as a minority professor in the Association of American Law Schools desk book, a directory of law professors from participating schools.

Richard Cordray’s ‘Heroes’ Occupy Banks and Private Homes

Obama consumer nominee’s long support of radical East Side Organizing Project.

When asked about the “Occupy Wall Street” movement in October, Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren praised it to the hilt. “I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do,” she told the Daily Beast. Yet when pressed in November on the OWS adherents’ increasingly violent tactics, she told a Boston TV interviewer: “Everybody has to follow the law. There’s no exception on that.”

But Warren’s apparent disavowal of the tactics of OWS and like-minded community organizers may not be shared by Richard Cordray, President Obama’s nominee to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that Warren designed. Cordray has long supported ESOP, formerly known as the East Side Organizing Project, an Ohio housing advocacy group that has distinguished itself by storming into banks and launching plastic “shark attacks” on the lawns of private homes. ESOP’s leaders brag about what they call their “organized hits” on banks and other targets, which have included the home of the late Congressman and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Jack Kemp.

Man Interrupts Elizabeth Warren Town Hall: ‘You’re a Socialist Whore’

[TheBlaze.com]

Just moments into a speech before volunteers in Massachusetts Wednesday, senate candidate Elizabeth Warren was heckled by a member of the audience. The man told Warren that if she is in fact the “intellectual creator” of the Occupy movement, then she is a “socialist whore.”

The man, who claimed to be out of work since February 2010, blasted Warren for her support of Occupy and asserted that the Tea Party has been protesting Wall Street excess for far longer than OWS has.

Before the gender-based epithet was used, Warren told the man she was “very sorry” that he has been unemployed for so long and then suggested his situation would have improved if the “recent jobs bill” had been passed in the Senate.

“I‘m very sorry that you’ve been out of work,” Warren told the man. “I‘m also very sorry that the recent jobs bill that would’ve brought 22,000 jobs to Massachusetts did not pass in the Senate.”

The Huffington Post adds:

Speaking in a packed VFW hall, Warren went on to address his question about her association with Occupy Wall Street. “I‘ve been protesting what’s been going on on Wall Street for a very long time,” she said, but added that the movement has its own independent agenda and will proceed along its own course.

Business Elizabeth Warren Takes Credit for ‘Intellectual Foundation’ of Occupy Wall Street

[TheBlaze.com]

Massachusetts Senate candidate, activist, and former Obama adviser Elizabeth Warren is now taking credit for the Occupy Wall Street movement, according to The Daily Beast.

“I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do,” she said in an interview with The Daily Beast. “I support what they do.”

Daily Beast writer Samuel P. Jacobs explains: “Warren’s boast isn’t bluster: As a professor of commercial law at Harvard and the force behind Obama’s consumer-protection bureau, Warren has been one of the most articulate voices challenging the excesses of Wall Street.”

Most Blaze readers are probably familiar with Warren as the Harvard professor who famously claimed that “there is nobody in this country who got rich on his own.”

She has been described as “a guileless, fevered Marxist” by former Reagan White House political director Jeffrey Lord, and George Will once wrote that she, “clarifies the liberal project and the stakes of contemporary politics. The project is to dilute the concept of individualism.”

Glenn Beck: Obama’s Latest Progressive Appointment

GLENN: Now let me introduce you to who Elizabeth Warren is. Two months ago this is somebody that the president did not, did not appoint as the head of this new Consumer Protection Agency because if he did, he would have to go through the Senate confirmation process. So instead he made her, I guess, executive secretary and the only employee. So by default she’s the head. But he can just appoint her to that role.

Two months ago in July she spoke at an event with George Soros and Van Jones. She also spoke at a conference with Soros in March. She’s a big, big Soros person. She’s a hero of the progressives. Arianna Huffington calls Warren her hero. Michael Moore loves her. Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders urged Obama to pick her. Al Franken wrote a letter in support of her. She spoke at Netroots Nation conference 2010, Building a Progressive Economic Vision. She said then, “Remember Franklin Roosevelt faced his economic royalists. Remember it took him years to get his entire economic package into place. It was tough, but it paid off.” Andy Stern tweeted about her the other day. He said Chris Dodd is wrong: The Obama administration should do what is right for consumers and appoint Elizabeth Warren to enforce the new laws fairly. She’s not going to be enforcing the laws. She’s writing the laws. By the way, she spoke at SEIU at one of their conferences back in 2010, way back in 2010, in May of this year. The AFL CIO has also come out and endorsed Warren. Everyone seems to love Warren, including the attempt to get the Internet to be regulated. Just for your protection, of course. They said that if she’s not given real power, there will be hell to be paid. She apparently is someone that the left puts a lot of stock into. If you don’t know who she is, she’s been the one who has been overseeing TARP to make sure that’s been fairly given out. But you’ve seen her before well, you haven’t. But about ten Americans have seen her before. If they saw Capitalism: A Love Story by Michael Moore. Here’s what happened.
