Pakistani Christians protest against the country’s blasphemy laws and violence targeting their minority community. An independent U.S. watchdog has urged the executive branch every year since 2002 to designate Pakistan as a “country of particular concern” over religious freedom violations. (AP Photo)
(CNSNews.com) – As the State Department prepares to release its annual report on international religious freedom Monday, a key issue for many Americans concerned about religious persecution is whether it will blacklist a handful of particularly egregious violators – or, as in previous years, ignore the recommendations of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.
The question is especially sensitive in the case of countries where the plight of minority Christians has worsened, even as their governments benefit significantly at the cost of U.S. taxpayers.

Chicago, one of the best test cases for gun control in the nation, has a murder rate exceeding the war in Afghanistan and coming close to the death rate in Iraq:
The death toll by murder in Chicago over the past decade is greater than the number of American forces who have died in Afghanistan since the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom, according to a police analysis.
In addition, police reports in Chicago – where President Obama once worked as a community organizer and where his former chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, now serves as mayor – show most of the city’s massive murder mayhem is black-on-black crime.
A WND review of the Chicago Police Department Murder Analysis reports from 2003 to 2011 provides a statistical breakdown of the demographics of both the victims and offenders in the 4,265 murders in Chicago over that time period.
Of the victims of murder in Chicago from 2003 to 2011, an average of 77 percent had a prior arrest history, with a high of 79 percent of the 436 murdered in Chicago in 2010 having arrest histories.
For the same 2003-2011 period, blacks were the victims of 75 percent of 4,265 murders. Blacks also were the offenders in 75 percent of the murders.
…Operation Enduring Freedom, the name for the war in Afghanistan, which started Oct. 7, 2001, has seen a total of 2,166 killed. The war has been ongoing for 11 years, 3 months and one week.

Barack Obama is many things. He is an arrogant elitist. He is an anti-American Marxist and holds many people who would probably be described as red-blooded Americans in contempt.
There is one group of Americans Obama has shown nothing but absolute contempt for.
Who are they and why is it so important?
The people that Obama holds in contempt are the patriotic Americans who make up our military.
From day one, Obama has done nothing but show his contempt and even hatred for the American military. Not only has he cut the budget for the military, but he is making them waste what money they have on useless and fraudulent programs like the biofuels program.
Obama’s contempt for the American military shows no limits. His campaign and the Democrat Party are now suing to block early voting for military personnel in the crucial swing state of Ohio.

Dec. 3, 2011: Iraq’s Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki speaks during an interview with The Associated Press in Baghdad, Iraq.
WASHINGTON – Marking the final departure of U.S. forces from Iraq after abandoning a security framework that called for an ongoing military presence there, President Obama said Monday the United States is prepared to help Iraq’s national security — not with troops but through training and trade.
Appearing in Washington with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki at his side, Obama said of the U.S. war to liberate the country and tamp down an al Qaeda insurgency: “Those days are over.”
As of late last week, the number of U.S. troops in Iraq had dwindled to about 6,000, down from 170,000 at the war’s peak in 2007. Troops are expected to be completely pulled out by year’s end.
“This is an historic moment, a war is ending,” Obama said.
Obama said the U.S. will now help Iraq train and equip its own forces and will establish a formal channel of communication between national security advisers.

Vice President Biden, declaring Monday that Al Qaeda in Iraq and its extremist allies have “utterly failed” to inflame widespread violence, said Iraqis are ready to “take charge” of their country as U.S. combat troops leave.
Despite concerns about a political impasse in the country, the vice president said he’s “confident” the leaders will resolve their differences. In an address marking the final drawdown of U.S. combat troops, he said the U.S. military has made “extraordinary progress” and is taking a “major step” this month.
To those who warned that the drawdown would open the door for destabilizing violence, Biden said: “They were wrong, because the Iraqis are ready to take charge.”
The vice president used the speech to both address the progress in Iraq while rallying support for the remaining military mission in Afghanistan, where Gen. David Petraeus recently took charge amid a troop buildup. “Don’t buy into, ‘We have failed in Afghanistan,’” Biden said. “We now are only beginning with the right general and the right number of forces.”
With regard to Iraq, Biden pledged a resolution to the ongoing political dispute over the March 7 elections. He said the political parties of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and former Premier Ayad Allawi must form the “nucleus” of the next government, complete with a formal written agreement on power-sharing.
“It’s time for them to match the courage of their citizens by completing this process,” Biden said. “I’m absolutely confident that Iraq will form a national unity government that will be able to sustain that country.”
