NBC’s Gregory Refused Permission to Display High Capacity Magazine

[Breitbart.com]

by Breitbart News 26 Dec 2012, 8:55 AM PDT

A channel 8 news reporter is claiming that NBC was denied permission by the MPD to use a high capacity magazine as a prop on a Sunday news show that was grandstanding on the gun control issue. Gregory and NBC went on the air with the high capacity mag anyway, disregarding the law and disregarding the orders from the police.

Reporter Whitney Elenor Wild (@whitneyWreports) tweeted:

Update on incident involving @davidgregory: NBC asked MPD if they could use a high capacity magazine in the segment, they were told no.

Jesse Jackson Jr. Could Be Faking Bipolar to Dodge Feds, Says BuzzFeed Reporter

Don’t be surprised if you hear less from John Stanton out of left-wing media in the foreseeable future.

Why? Stanton’s penchant for speaking candidly, as he did yesterday on Bill Press’s radio show about embattled former congressman Jesse Jackson Jr.’s resignation from Congress only weeks after winning re-election.

Press told BuzzFeed’s Washington bureau chief of bumping into Jackson at George Washington University Hospital back in June after Press popped a hernia, Jackson telling Press he was “feeling a little under the weather.”

“The last time anybody saw Jesse Jackson Jr. in this city,” Press added, “and I didn’t realize that was the beginning of a long saga which ended over the weekend when he resigned from the United States Congress. Why?”

Santorum steps up to the plate

[HumanEvents.com]

A big day dawns for the dark-horse conservative candidate.

by John Hayward

February 07, 2012

Tuesday could be Rick Santorum’s big day – his chance to break back into the news cycle with some strong primary performances, and make the case that he’s a better choice than Newt Gingrich for those seeking an alternative to Mitt Romney.

On the national level, it’s really still a fairly close race.  An ABC News / Washington Post poll concluded on the eve of this weekend’s Nevada caucuses had Romney in the lead with 38 percent support, but Gingrich, Santorum, and Ron Paul were fairly close together with 24, 18, and 14 percent, respectively.  Very few delegates have been assigned by the primaries and caucuses held thus far.  There is still plenty of time for the race to change.

It’s the local polling that makes Tuesday exciting for the Santorum campaign.  Missouri is holding a “just for show” meaningless primary ahead of its March caucuses, but Santorum is looking very good there.  He’s just a hair behind Gingrich, and a bit ahead of Romney, but Gingrich didn’t qualify for the primary, so Santorum has a great opening to win over those march Missouri caucus-goers.

Santorum: Obama Wants Americans to go to College to Become Indoctrinated

[FrontPorchPolitics.com]

January 25, 2012 by

school indoctrinationRick Santorum accused President Obama of wanting Americans to go to colleges and universities that will indoctrinate them to be liberals.

“It’s no wonder President Obama wants every kid go to go college,” Santorum said Wednesday in Florida, according to CBS News. “The indoctrination that occurs in American universities is one of the keys to the left holding and maintaining power in America. And it is indoctrination. If it was the other way around, the ACLU would be out there making sure there wasn’t one penny of government dollars going to colleges and universities, right?”

In Obama’s State of the Union speech a day earlier he called on higher education institutions to become more affordable or face funding cuts from the federal government.

“Higher education can’t be a luxury — it is an economic imperative that every family in America should be able to afford,” Obama said in his speech.

Forget That. The Left Will Not Abandon Obama

We need to backup and take a moment to collect ourselves. While it is true we have a wounded president who appears all but finished as a one termer, it will not be from lack of support from the Left. I can certainly see the logic in assuming otherwise, however. After all, his presidency has been one big stinker. But if there is one thing that is utterly amazing to witness it is the limitless power of a child’s mind.

In the case when grown-ups possess a child’s mind they become trapped within it. Because grown-ups have things a child does not: Experience and years of living. In other words, liberals willfully reject reality for fantasy. They are irrational, emotional, prone to tantrums and cry out, “but that’s not fair!” when things do not go their way. For a child, that is his only defense against a world he does not understand and is ill-equipped to cope with. For an adult, it is a sickness.

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said she believes she could beat President Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential election and is considering whether to run.

Palin said in an ABC News interview that she’s “looking at the lay of the land” for a possible presidential bid and “trying to figure that out, if it’s a good thing for the country, for the discourse, for my family.”

When asked whether she could beat Obama, Palin, the 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee, replied, “I believe so.”

Dem Base Not Optimistic on Economy

Liveshots – FoxNews.com

July 26, 2010 – 2:35 PM | by: Lee Ross

Seemingly convinced that the Obama administration has not done enough to improve the country’s economic outlook, a survey of liberals and progressives show a majority believe the nation is now in the midst of a serious long-term economic decline.

The straw poll from this weekend’s Netroots Nation convention of activists reveals that 53% of those surveyed believe the current economic difficulties will last for the foreseeable future. Only 35% think a positive correction is right around the corner.

In a video statement played at the convention Saturday, President Obama talked about the timing of an economic recovery that seems to match up with these numbers. “It took years to get here,” Obama said. “It will take time to get us out.”

Nearly three quarters of the people surveyed believe Washington lawmakers should make the nation’s sluggish employment marketplace their top priority. Concerns over the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as other issues, lagged far behind.

Obama AZ border claims false, say three … Democrats?

When Barack Obama insisted last week that the southern border was more secure than at any time over the past 20 years, no one was surprised to hear Republicans scoffing at the claim.  However, they’re not the only people calling Obama’s claim false.  Three Arizona Democrats in Congress blasted Obama this weekend, worried that voters in their districts might hold them accountable for Obama’s posturing:

Anticipating a furor of voter criticism over the July Fourth recess, Democratic lawmakers from the border region shot back at the White House last week, challenging the president’s speech on immigration in which he said that the southern border is secure.

Arizona Democratic Reps. Ann Kirkpatrick, Harry Mitchell and Gabrielle Giffords joined a growing Republican chorus in denouncing President Barack Obama for not pushing for more specific action in his Thursday speech on the nation’s immigration and border security issues.

Obama Surrenders U.S. Sovereignty: His INTERPOL Executive Order

PajamasMedia.com

Quietly, Obama just made it much easier for the International Criminal Court to go after American “war criminals.”

December 28, 2009 – by Bob Owens

US Sovereignty

At ThreatsWatch.org, Steve Schippert and Clyde Middleton have dug up the bizarre and unsettling issuance of an executive order recently signed by President Barack Obama. Executive Order — Amending Executive Order 12425, signed December 16 and released a day later, grants the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) rights on American soil that place it beyond the reach of our own law enforcement agencies, such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Schippert and Middleton note that Obama’s order removes protections placed upon INTERPOL by President Reagan in 1983. Obama’s order gives the group the authority to avoid Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests — which means this foreign law enforcement organization can operate free of an important safeguard against governmental abuse. “Property and assets,” including the organization’s records, cannot be searched or seized. Their physical locations and records are now immune from U.S. legal or investigative authorities.

If the president of the United States has an aboveboard reason for making a foreign law enforcement agency exempt from American laws on American soil, it wasn’t shared by the White House.

Andy McCarthy, former assistant United States attorney for the Southern District of New York and senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, notes at National Review that the limitations that Obama removed are “what prevents law-enforcement and its controlling government authority from becoming tyrannical.”

A paragraph later, McCarthy describes Obama’s actions in the starkest of terms:

This international police force (whose U.S. headquarters is in the Justice Department in Washington) will be unrestrained by the U.S. Constitution and American law while it operates in the United States and affects both Americans and American interests outside the United States.

Some bloggers covering this story are noting that the law enforcement agency to which Obama has extended such extraordinary powers to has had a dismal past.

INTERPOL’s senior leadership was flush with Nazis from the late 1930s all the way into the 1970s. That fact allowed, going Godwin isn’t necessarily relevant to today’s organization. Khoo Boon Hui of Singapore is the current president of the organization, and the current secretary general is American Ronald Noble. Noble is perhaps best known in America for overseeing the Treasury Department’s review of the disastrous 1993 raid and siege of a Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, that left nearly 80 people dead. Noble had cautioned against the initial raid plan as being too dangerous, but the lack of any significant ramifications for federal officials that approved of the raid and allegations of a cover-up have inspired conspiracy theorists to derisively dub Noble “the Enforcer.”

But INTERPOL’s past isn’t what concerns us at this moment. Its current actions and the actions of our president are those that we question.

Obama Administration: Time Running out on Healthcare Reform

KILL THE BILL – STOP SOCIALIST HEALTH CARE, NOW!

From:  NEWSMAX

LIBERAL HEALTHCARE is a down payment on Socialism.

By: David A. Patten

The Obama administration is warning Democrats and the media that healthcare reform has reached a do-or-die stage and is in danger of imploding unless a deal is struck soon.

Vice President Joe Biden sounded the alarm on today’s Morning Joe program: “If health care does not pass in this Congress — and every day gets closer to the election as opposed to having more breathing room to actually have discussions and real open fights here – it’s gonna be kicked back for a generation,” he said.

Political analysts have seen little sign in recent days that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., whose Hail Mary insistence on a public option has altogether collapsed, has a workable plan to achieve a compromise before year’s end. And the coming New Year will drastically escalate Democrats’ fears that healthcare reform, which is increasingly unpopular in most opinion polls, could be a political millstone come November.

The ineluctable realities of the electoral calendar have apparently led the administration to conclude that its best chance to get a reform bill through Congress is to light a fire of urgency on Capitol Hill. This is the “do or die” message President Obama that is expected to deliver at a special meeting of all Senate Democrats at the White House this afternoon.

According to Mike Allen’s Politico Playbook: “Look for [Obama] to make the case that this is the last chance for healthcare reform.”

The White House is privately warning that if President Obama and congressional Democrats, who enjoy a supermajority and 60 votes in the Senate, can’t pass healthcare reform soon, future presidents may view the issue as a political third rail, avoiding reform altogether.

“If President Obama doesn’t pass health reform,” said White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer, “it’s hard to imagine another president ever taking on this herculean task. For those whose life’s work is reforming health care, this may be the last train leaving the station.”

Most observers still believe Democrats will still achieve a compromise, finally embarking on the legislative march toward a successful vote in the Senate. But with Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman’s declaration that he will not support either a public option or a massive expansion of Medicare coverage, the White House for the first time sees a scenario where Democrats become so ensnared in squabbles over various aspects of the incredibly complex, 2,100-page bill that reform implodes altogether.

Yesterday, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs sidestepped a question about a report that the White House had urged Reid to cut a deal acceptable to Lieberman, in order to move reform forward.

Asked to confirm the report, Gibbs would only say with a canny smile: “The president is anxious to see progress, and we’ll continue to work with Democrats and Republicans and independents and everyone in between to make that progress.

Lieberman’s support is vital because he represents the 60th vote that would be needed to cut off a Republican-led filibuster. The administration’s willingness to jettison the expansion of Medicare coverage has been generally viewed as a signal that any bill passed by the Senate is not likely to include any form of the controversial public option, which conservatives fear would be a step toward single-payer, government run healthcare.
