Backfire: ABC, CNN, NBC Call for White House to Release Libya Emails

[Breitbart.com]

by John Nolte 15 May 2013, 4:34 AM PDT

***UPDATE: NBC’s senior White House correspondent joined the chorus Wednesday. On his MSNBC show, “The Daily Rundown,” Chuck Todd looked into the camera and said, “Attention White House: Release all the emails.” The headline has been updated to add NBC.

Assuming they are the ones who leaked to CNN an email written by Ben Rhoades (a Deputy National Security Advisor close to the President), the White House might have been too clever by half Tuesday. An act that was obviously meant to pour water on the Benghazi fire started by an ABC News report, has only ended up being gasoline. Now both CNN and ABC have joined conservative media in calling for the White House to release all the emails surrounding the editing of the CIA talking points.

Friday, in a bombshell report that blew the long-simmering Libya scandal wide open and right into the arms of the mainstream media, ABC’s Jonathan Karl reported that an email written by Rhoades specifically mentioned the State Department’s concerns about the CIA talking points. Here is how Karl transcribed the Rhoades’ email:

We must make sure that the talking points reflect all agency equities, including those of the State Department, and we don’t want to undermine the FBI investigation.  We thus will work through the talking points tomorrow morning at the Deputies Committee meeting.

Jesse Jackson Jr. Could Be Faking Bipolar to Dodge Feds, Says BuzzFeed Reporter

Don’t be surprised if you hear less from John Stanton out of left-wing media in the foreseeable future.

Why? Stanton’s penchant for speaking candidly, as he did yesterday on Bill Press’s radio show about embattled former congressman Jesse Jackson Jr.’s resignation from Congress only weeks after winning re-election.

Press told BuzzFeed’s Washington bureau chief of bumping into Jackson at George Washington University Hospital back in June after Press popped a hernia, Jackson telling Press he was “feeling a little under the weather.”

“The last time anybody saw Jesse Jackson Jr. in this city,” Press added, “and I didn’t realize that was the beginning of a long saga which ended over the weekend when he resigned from the United States Congress. Why?”

Congress Probes Obama Green Stimulus Funds for MSNBC

[TheNewAmerican.com]

Monday, September 3, 2012

Written by

Lawmakers are investigating the Obama administration’s controversial decision to purchase over 100 advertisements touting so-called “green jobs” on the far-left MSNBC cable television outlet using “stimulus” funds, raising serious questions among analysts about misappropriation of taxpayer money to reward allies of the president who parrot White House talking points. No other TV media channels received similar contracts and no jobs were “created.”

The dubious Obama-friendly commercials touting “green” stimulus schemes ran over 100 times on MSNBC, costing taxpayers about half of a million dollars. But after the administration’s decision became a public scandal in the wake of watchdogs and media reports exposing it, criticism of the plot is growing. And now, members of Congress want answers.

Chris Matthews Admits to Verbally Accosting GOP Delegates at Restaurant

Matthew Sheffield's picture[Newsbusters.org]

By Matthew Sheffield | August 31, 2012

Just hours after a producer for deranged MSNBC host Chris Matthews was accused of physically assaulting Republicans outside the party’s national convention last night, Matthews himself has admitted to verbally confronting several GOP delegates at a restaurant in Tampa, Florida calling them a “douchebag convention.”

According to The Hill newspaper, the perpetually angry liberal television host confronted the delegates early Friday morning following taunting questions they asked about whether he felt “thrilled” following GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s acceptance speech.

The controversy began, according to a witness interviewed by The Hill when Matthews twice refused to acknowledge a New York delegate named Eric Ulrich who had greeted him. This prompted other Republican patrons of the restaurant to begin heckling him for the perceived slight:

He headed back into the restaurant to mix it up with them. “I wanted to confront them,” Matthews said, describing his exchange with the men as “towel-snapping” among guys.

Matthews said he told the rowdy group, “What’s this, a douchebag convention?”

RNC Chair Fires Back at Chris Matthews After Tense Exchange: Took Prize for ‘Biggest Jerk in the Room’

[TheBlaze.com]

Posted on August 27, 2012 at 4:13pm by Mike Opelka

Following this morning’s blow up by Chris Matthews during a segment with RNC Chair Reince Priebus on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Priebus spoke with a small group of reporters inside the Google Lounge at the convention center and offered his reaction, throwing out the term “biggest jerk.”

TheBlaze was on hand and asked the question, “Mr. Chairman, on Chris Matthews… when you went to commercial after the conflict with Chris Matthews, was there anything said between the two of you?  Did you shake hands? Was there a hug?

Mr. Priebus answered the question fully for TheBlaze, and delivered one of the classic lines from the convention today:

“When someone wants to take the prize of being the biggest jerk in the room, he made the case for us.”

Sinaloa Cartel Operative Jesus Vincente Zambada Niebla Makes Explosive Allegation About Operation Fast and Furious

Jesus Vincente Zambada-Niebla (Source: MSNBC)

A high-ranking Mexican drug cartel operative currently in U.S. custody is making startling allegations that the failed federal gun-walking operation known as “Fast and Furious” isn’t what you think it is.

It wasn’t about tracking guns, it was about supplying them — all part of an elaborate agreement between the U.S. government and Mexico’s powerful Sinaloa Cartel to take down rival cartels.

The explosive allegations are being made by Jesus Vicente Zambada-Niebla, known as the Sinaloa Cartel’s “logistics coordinator.” He was extradited to the Chicago last year to face federal drug charges.

Media humiliated over election coverage

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer transforms from ‘joyous’ to somber in 1 hour [How the liberal mainstream "propaganda" media GOT IT WRONG!]

Some members of the national news media are coming under heavy criticism today for their coverage, or lack thereof, of last night’s Wisconsin recall vote.

Incumbent Republican Gov. Scott Walker easily won the race with 53 percent of the vote, compared to 46 percent for Democrat challenger Tom Barrett, the mayor of Milwaukee.

At 9 p.m. Eastern, when polls officially closed and networks could make their prediction, all of the cable networks including CNN, MSNBC and Fox News all announced the race was “too close to call.”

Radio host Rush Limbaugh said CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer sounded “joyous” when he declared at 9 p.m.: “We begin with breaking news out of Wisconsin where polls have just closed in a recall vote that could preview November’s election. Look at this! Our exit polls show it’s a 50/50 race as of this minute!”

“Why was Wolf Blitzer excited?” asked Limbaugh this afternoon. “Why was 50/50 exciting to Wolf Blitzer and anybody on the left? It was because all the pre-election polls had Walker winning by anywhere from 3 to 10 [points].”

Evidence: Trayvon Had Bruised Knuckles, Zimmerman Broken Nose

[Breitbart.com]

May 15, 2012 – by Ben Shapiro

[BREAKING:  George Zimmerman's maternal great-grandfather was Black; Zimmerman is a Democrat]

The medical report from George Zimmerman’s family doctor after the Trayvon Martin shooting shows that Zimmerman’s nose was broken; he also had a pair of black eyes, two lacerations on the back of his head, a bruised upper lip, and a back injury. He was examined by the doctor the day after the shooting. The three-page medical report will likely be used as evidence for the defense.

Meanwhile, the Trayvon Martin autopsy shows that other than his gunshot wound, the only injury on Martin was that the skin on his knuckles was broken. Combined with the evidence from Zimmerman’s medical report, the logical conclusion is that Martin was beating up Zimmerman severely before Zimmerman shot him.

Zimmerman was eager to get back to work, and visited the doctor, according to ABC News, to “get legal clearance to return to work.” Zimmerman was not hospitalized the night of the shooting. As ABC News reports, “In addition to his physical injuries, Zimmerman complained of stress and ‘occasional nausea when thinking about the violence.’” The doctor made notes suggesting that it was “imperative” that Zimmerman visit a “psychologist for evaluation.”

Obamacare, politics, and the modern Supreme Court.

And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be

Democratic political strategist and organizer Robert Creamer claims that overturning Obamacare would make the Supreme Court the “most activist [and] partisan in modern history.”

Radical leftist MSNBC host Rachel Maddow says that the Obamacare decision “may as much be a referendum on the Supreme Court and whether or not the Roberts court is so conservatively politicized that it will make a decision to hurt the President, rather than sticking closely to precedent here.”

Barack Obama, Ed Schultz Make GQ‘s ’LEAST Influential People Alive’ List

[TheBlaze.com]

While magazines across the country offer readers their pick of the world’s “most influential people,” this year, GQ magazine is bringing you the “The 25 Least Influential People Alive” — and on the list are MSNBC host Ed Schultz, and, of all people, President Barack Obama. This is the same magazine that oddly, named Obama “Leader of the Year“ in 2009 and ”Man of the Year“ in 2008 while calling Sarah Palin ”dangerous“ and ”poisonous.”

But now, GQ has weighed the data and places Obama as the 25th least influential person in the world. Joining the president and Schultz are Daily Beast and Newsweek editor Tina Brown, along with Hosni Mubarak, Hank Williams Jr. and John Boehner, who came in at number 24.

While the issue has not yet been published, TVNewswer brought us a taste of what GQ had to say about Schultz:

…Then there pundits like Ed Schultz. Do you watch “The Ed Show” on MSNBC? Of course you don’t. No one does. The only reason people watch “The Ed Show” is they’re working out in a hotel gym and they can’t find a staff member to change the channel to ESPN.

Did a Pro-Eugenics Org Advertise on MSNBC During the GOP Debate?

TheBlaze.com

During Wednesday’s GOP presidential debate, a group called Californians for Population Stabilization ran an advertisement advocating for caps on legal — not illegal — immigration.

In the ad, a man shuffles the letters in the word “illegal” to separate the “I-L“ from ”L-E-G-A-L” and says:

Now that so many Californians are out of work, attention is turning to the millions of illegal workers in the state. It’s about time. But what about these workers? Legal foreign workers — one million legal immigrants and temporary workers our government admits every year that take good jobs in places like California, no matter how many Californians are out of work or how ill the economy gets. We need to slow legal immigration ’till California is working again. Paid for by Californians for Population Stabilization.

Incivility at the Tea Party

American Spectator

By on 8.4.11 @ 6:08AM

In 2009, the Obama administration dropped the phrase “the war on terror,” revealing a reluctance on its part to call terrorists “terrorists.” The liberal establishment shows no such reluctance when describing Tea Partiers. “[T]hese Tea Party guys are, like, strapped with dynamite,” said former Obama administration official Steven Rattner. New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman calls them the “Hezbollah faction” of the GOP.

In the Left’s Rush to Politicize Bin Laden They Overlook Their Hypocrisy

Dana Loesch

BigJournalism.com

Posted by Dana Loesch May 3rd 2011 at 11:30 am

Here’s the interesting quandary: the left, including our President, has railed against “enhanced interrogation techniques” for years. Obama even moved to prosecute those who engaged in using such techniques to extract pertinent information from terrorist detainees:

President Barack Obama left the door open Tuesday to prosecuting Bush administration officials who devised the legal authority for gruesome terrorism-suspect interrogations, saying the United States lost “our moral bearings” with use of the tactics.

The question of whether to bring charges against those who devised justification for the methods “is going to be more of a decision for the attorney general within the parameters of various laws and I don’t want to prejudge that,” Obama said.

Said the President previously on interrogation:

“We must send a message to the world that America is a nation of laws, and a nation that stands against torture. As President I will abide by statutory prohibitions, and have the Army Field Manual govern interrogation techniques for all United States Government personnel and contractors.”

So now the President must find himself in a difficult position, after railing so hard against interrogation techniques for so long, he can’t claim victory for bin Laden’s death without ceding a major part of that victory to the techniques he opposed which were curated under his predecessor.

Brian Williams to Boehner: Do you feel responsible somehow for the Birthers? (No, Brian, No! He’s not!)

The oddest part of this question is that Boehner’s nothing like the stereotypical tea partier, which of course is whom Williams has in mind in asking this. He’s a consummate Beltway insider, less known for passionate ideological rhetoric than for his golf game (and for crying, natch). He’s probably bewildered by the whole Birther phenomenon. And in fact, he’s been answering this question the same way for upwards of two years. But if you land an exclusive with the Speaker of the House, why not take the opportunity to kook-ify him, right?

Actually, Rand Paul had a decent answer to the “kook question” when it came up in the course of Diane Sawyer’s chat with tea party legislators a few days ago:

RAND PAUL: I was just gonna interject that– that’s– I had one chance to speak with the President. And I told him that from one who is seen as being associated with the Tea Party, I want to make sure he knows that I want a civil discourse. Because sometimes in the media, they’ve portrayed 100,000 people at a crowd and one guy with a mean sign towards the President. That’s not me holding that sign or any of these people. We want a polite discussion. And we disagree. And it can be very strong disagreement. And his response was, “Yeah, we can disagree and not be disagreeable.” And I agree completely.

Video: GOPro[cb] ud chief defends conservatism from MSNBC tool

I wonder what inspired this booking. Did Uygur think Barron was going to come on and join him in a round of right-bashing because of the CPAC boycotts? Or was the point simply to have him on so that Uygur could laugh derisively for the benefit of MSNBC’s viewers when Barron inevitably defended conservatives? As background on this, read Gabe Malor’s post at Ace’s site this morning listing some of the socially conservative groups who still plan to attend CPAC notwithstanding GOProud’s participation. There is no “social con boycott” of the event; frankly, it does social conservatives a disservice to suggest that there is.

Barron does a nice job here but could have fielded Uygur’s question better about why so many Republicans voted against repealing DADT. There may be, as RCP argues, a generational gap on this question in Congress, with senators in their early 50s — even conservatives ones like Richard Burr — more prone to siding with the left on gay issues than older Republicans are. That’s perfectly in keeping with national polling showing more tolerance for gays among younger demographics. Which is to say, per Uygur’s critique, while the GOP hasn’t traditionally welcomed gays, it’s far more likely to do so in the future. Click the image to watch.

Hawaii’s Governor Weighs Ways to Reveal Obama’s Birth Certificate

AP – Dec. 27: President Obama, third from left, orders shave ice at Island Snow at Kailua Beach Center while on vacation with the first family in Kailua, Hawaii.

HONOLULU — Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie wants to find a way to release more information about President Obama’s Hawaii birth and dispel conspiracy theories that he was born elsewhere.

Abercrombie was a friend of Obama’s parents and knew him as a child, and is deeply troubled by the effort to cast doubt on the president’s citizenship.

The newly elected governor will ask the state attorney general’s office about what can be done to put an end to questions about Obama’s birth documentation from Aug. 4, 1961, spokeswoman Donalyn Dela Cruz said Tuesday.

“He had a friendship with Mr. Obama’s parents, and so there is a personal issue at hand,” Dela Cruz said. “Is it going to be done immediately? No, the first thing on our list is the economy.”

It’s unclear what Abercrombie could do because Hawaii’s privacy laws have long barred the release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who doesn’t have a tangible interest.

Koppel Responds to Olbermann: ‘Perspective a Little Screwed Up’

Former ABC newsman Ted Koppel has responded to criticism from MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann by saying Olbermann has his “perspective” and his “facts” “screwed up.”

In an op-ed on Sunday, Koppel charged that polarizing figures such as Olbermann and O’Reilly detract from the journalism profession. Olbermann responded by attacking Koppel and his false promise of “objectivity,” adding that Koppel doesn’t understand the complexities of “modern news.”

“I think Keith Olbermann is a very bright and clearly passionate man, but I think he has his perspective a little screwed up, and he has his facts screwed up too,” Koppel told NPR on Wednesday.

He went on to discuss news giants such as Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite and what made them great. “What made those pieces so powerful as they they came out of a lifetime of objective, and not subjective, reporting,” Koppel said.

In an otherwise serious poll from Politico and George Washington University, the survey also asks respondents which cable-news network they access most for political news.  The results aren’t terribly surprising, as they more or less mirror the ratings, but are still noteworthy for one network’s almost-total marginalization.  While Fox News Channel sailed to an impressive 42% and CNN got a substantial if unimpressive 30%, MSNBC got …

More people are getting their news about the upcoming election from cable television than any other source, and from Fox News more than any other cable channel, according to a POLITICO/George Washington University Battleground Poll released Monday.
