Santorum Trains Yet Another MSM Journalist on Obama’s Appeasement: NBC’s David Gregory

[Editor: CWNews endorses Senator Rick Santorum as a favorite candidate for the Iowa Caucuses. God bless America!]

Last month, Sen. Rick Santorum schooled CNN’s Candy Crowley on the subject of President Barack Obama’s appeasement of America’s enemies. Sunday, on NBC’s Meet the Press, it was David Gregory’s turn.

Like Crowley, Gregory attempted to “fact-check” Santorum by arguing that it could not possibly be “accurate” or “objective” to describe Obama’s foreign policy as “appeasement.”

In particular, he challenged Santorum to distinguish Obama’s policy on Iran from that of his predecessor, George W. Bush. (For several years, Democrats have tried to defend Obama by pointing out that the Bush administration refused to approve military strikes, either by the U.S. or by Israel.)

Santorum, as usual, delivered the facts on demand:

Santorum pointed out that Obama failed to support Iran’s democracy movement–and later added that Obama cut funding to pro-democracy programs that Bush had supported. He noted that Obama has given tacit support to Islamist political parties in Egypt and other Arab countries that oppose America and our allies.

Pope to Faithful at Christmas Eve Mass: ‘See Through the Superficial Glitter of this Season’

[TheBlaze.com]

(The Blaze/AP) Pope Benedict XVI decried the increasing commercialization of Christmas as he celebrated Christmas Eve Mass on Saturday night, beginning celebrations around the globe. Two hours before midnight at Vatican City, Pope Benedict urged the faithful to look to the holiday’s true meaning.

“Let us ask the Lord to help us see through the superficial glitter of this season, and to discover behind it the child in the stable in Bethlehem, so as to find true joy and true light,” Benedict told congregants in a packed St. Peter’s Basilica.

Benedict presided over the service in a packed St. Peter’s Basilica, kicking off an intense two weeks of Christmas-related public appearances that will test the 84-year-old pontiff’s stamina amid signs that fatigue is starting to slow him down.

The Christmas Eve Mass was moved up to 10 p.m. from midnight several years ago to spare the pope a late night that is followed by an important Christmas Day speech. In a new concession this year, Benedict processed down the basilica’s central aisle on a moving platform to spare him the long walk.

Powerful Ad Wonders Why Politicians Are Ignoring Occupy Protesters’ Anti-Semitism

[TheBlaze.com]

The Blaze has covered several instances of anti-Semitism emanating from the Occupy Wall St. movement (despite the organizers’ attempts to trivialize it).  And now, the group over at Whyoccupy.com has released a powerful new web ad wondering why, despite the anti-Semitism, so many liberal politicians have come out in support of the movement.

“Why are our leaders turning a blind eye to anti-Semitic, anti-Israel attacks?” it asks:

You can read about the anti-Semitism at the protests here, here, here, and here.

‘No Freedom of Speech if You’re a Conservative’: Hank Jr. Gives Glenn a Candid Interview

[TheBlaze.com]

“This is my favorite interview maybe of all time,” Glenn concluded. See why below (Editor’s note: the video below does have a pause near the beginning — we are working on getting a better version):

It was an interview Glenn Beck characterized as one of his best ever.

Hank Williams Jr. isn’t mincing words when it comes to his feud with ESPN. In keeping with his bold and brash style, he joined Beck on radio Wednesday to talk about the fallout from his recent appearance on Fox News, and he was quite candid.

When Toasts to the Queen Go Bad

MichelleMalkin.com

By Doug Powers  •  May 24, 2011 10:18 PM

It’s been an interesting UK day for President Obama. Earlier he thought it was 2008, and now this.

Jake Tapper has the detailed description of what you have to see and hear to experience the full awkwardness of the moment, but here’s the short version: President Obama was delivering a toast to the Queen and the band misunderstood a pause for the president being finished speaking. The band began playing God Save the Queen — you know, England’s National Anthem — and Obama kept toasting during the song. I’m not completely up to speed on protocol, but judging from the Queen’s behavior I think that’s a total no-no. The order in which things were supposed to happen remains a mystery.

Forcing Ga. Official to Resign Over YouTube Clip was the Right Call, Agriculture Chief Says

FoxNews.com

Published July 20, 2010

Shown here is USDA Georgia official Shirley Sherrod. (YouTube)

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack on Tuesday stood by his decision to demand the resignation of a Georgia official over a controversial YouTube clip, though the ex-official claimed afterward that the Obama administration never gave her a chance to tell her side of the story.

Shirley Sherrod, the department’s ex-Georgia director of Rural Development, said the White House forced her out after the video surfaced showing her telling a story about how she withheld help to a white farmer in trouble. But she claimed the video omitted key context and that the administration just got scared.
