GM is Alive and the Volt is Dead.

[RedState.com]

By: Ben Howe (Diary)  |  September 13th, 2012 at 06:00 PM

One of the talking points that Obama’s reelection campaign has been pushing is that “Bin Laden is dead and GM is alive!”  It’s fair to say that the success of GM is a pretty important linchpin to his reelection case.

Something that Obama has not been running on is his failed attempts to force his green dreams on an unwilling public. You won’t see him selling bumper stickers about Solyndra or Fisker.

For Obama, his supposed successes and his actual failures merge into one story. Such is the case with the Chevy Volt, Obama’s green initiative and GM’s “moonshot.”

But these days even the Obama-friendly press is having trouble keeping up the act after the Volt halted production following their dismal sales of 21,000 vehicles since manufacturing first began. Honing in on the outlandish claims the administration & GM had made in the beginning that in hindsight are clearly unrealistic, the Washington Post Editorial Board ripped apart the administration on their failure to make their investment in the Volt worth the taxpayer’s while.

‘Blowing Smoke’: Team Obama‘s ’Felon’ Charge Gets Debunked by the Washington Post

[FloppingAces.net]

By: | July 13, 2012

It’s confirmed: the Obama campaign enjoys being publicly ridiculed by the Washington Post’s (WaPo) Fact Checker for its over-the-top dishonesty.

Seriously, this is the only explanation we can come up with for why Team Obamakeeps makingthese patently false and easily refuted claims. And they’re not little fibs either! They’re great big honkin’ lies like “Hey, you know, Romney could be a felon.”

Anyway, it might be safe to assume at this point that the relationship between the Obama campaign and the Fact Checker is, um, strained (to say the least).

This time around, the WaPo’s Glenn Kessler evaluates Team Obama’s aforementioned “Romney is a felon” charge (which we discussed at great length yesterday on The Blaze) and, as it turns out, the Obama campaign has really blown it on this one.

Here’s the claim from Obama campaign counsel member Robert Bauer:

Romney and Bain claim that he was not involved with Bain, but Bain and its portfolio companies in their required filings under the Securities Exchange Act continuously certified to the Securities and Exchange Commission say precisely the opposite — asserting without qualification that he was a controlling person, fully in charge of Bain, under the Federal securities law.

Under normal circumstances, the question of the truth of this representation would result in an investigation by the SEC into possible criminal, as well as civil, violations of the law.

Obama, Why Don’t You Just Resign?

Barack Hussein Obama has decided that in order to punish Arizona for having dared enforce American immigration laws, he has ordered his federal agencies to basically stop working with Arizona’s law enforcement agencies concerning illegal immigrants. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr has also made it known as the nations chief law enforcement officer that he too is only going to selectively enforce immigration laws that he personally likes. More to the point, Holder will only enforce what is beneficial to his boss’s re-election campaign. If I’m not mistaken, this attitude by both men is blatantly UNCONSTITUTIONAL and falls under the heading of “high crimes and misdemeanors’, an IMPEACHABLE offense!

Mr. Obama, how in the world can you look at the people of Arizona and tell them that YOU are not willing to give them EQUAL PROTECTION under the laws of the United States? Brian Terry, an American Border Patrol Agent, was shot in the back 18 miles INSIDE the border of the United States! Jaime Zapata, an ICE agent, was also killed because of an illegally run and botched program known as Fast & Furious. Being an accomplice to murder, Mr. Obama, is a crime punishable by prison time. Maybe you and Mr Holder could share a cell? Anyway, I digress…..again!

My feelings are, Mr. Obama, that you should be impeached before any more American and Mexican bodies pile up because of your insanity. Mr. Holder should be found guilty of contempt of Congress and charged with negligent homicide in the cases of the two dead federal agents. You and Holder should also have to face justice in the death of the Arizona rancher and others who were killed by your illegal compadres coming across our borders and onto American’s rightfully-owned land. I have an idea for a reverse gun walking program that I would like to run called “Slow & Deliberate”! It’s a program whereby I legally get to use federal funds to LEGALLY buy guns from LEGAL gun shop owners and arm American citizens to help guard the American border from the intrusion of illegals from everywhere. No problems, no paperwork, no questions! All neat, tidy, and LEGAL!

‘Not Amnesty,’ Napolitano Says: ‘It Is An Exercise of Discretion’ [Oh, Really?]

[CNSNews.com]

(CNSNews.com) - Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said that the administration’s new program for young illegal immigrants is “not amnesty” despite the fact that it will remove them from the deportation process.

The program, announced Friday, would grant as many as 800,000 younger illegal immigrants immunity from deportation and allow them to qualify for federal work permits.

Congressional Resolution: Impeachment of Barack Obama

[FrontPorchPolitics.com]

Written on March 10, 2012 at 5:42 pm by

The impeachment of President Barack Hussein Obama has begun. The new Congressional resolution filed Wednesday states that using offensive military force, without prior consent violates Congress’ express Constitutional power to declare war. This is exactly what President Obama’s Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta was promoting the other day in the Appropriations Committee.

The Library of Congress has on file, as of March 7,2012 H. Con. Res. 107 which says,

Expressing the sense of Congress that the use of offensive military force by a President without prior and clear authorization of an Act of Congress constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution.

After the Appropriations Committee session I wrote on just days ago, this was introduced.

Mr. Walter B. Jones (Rep. NC) put forth this resolution in preparation for a war in Iran. Why this is not being taken further in regards to the issue of Libya, one can only guess that the administration didn’t call it a “war”. It is possible however, that this will be used to bring charges against the President for the war in Libya and maybe even in Syria as well.

The Concurrent Resolution goes on to state:

Whereas the cornerstone of the Republic is honoring Congress’s exclusive power to declare war under article I, section 8, clause 11 of the Constitution: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That it is the sense of Congress that, except in response to an actual or imminent attack against the territory of the United States, the use of offensive military force by a President without prior and clear authorization of an Act of Congress violates Congress’s exclusive power to declare war under article I, section 8, clause 11 of the Constitution and therefore constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution.

New Liberal Study: Obama Admin. Changes More Federal Rules Than Bush

[TheBlaze.com]

new report from the liberal Center for Progressive Reform (CPR) says that the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) under the Obama Administration has made more changes to federal regulations– including EPA rules– than their Bush Administration predecessors. The CPR blog writes:

“The results were shocking even to us, long-time and admittedly jaded observers of OIRA’s one-way ratchet toward weakening public health and other protections.

Obama’s OIRA changes more rules than Bush’s did. The Obama Administration has further entrenched a regulatory system in which White House officials trump agency expertise with decisions based on raw politics. While the Bush Administration changed 64 percent of regulations under this process, the Obama Administration has changed 76 percent.”

2. If a previous president had then proposed to double the current debt within 10 years, would you have approved?

3. If a previous president would have spent nearly a trillion dollars in stimulus and guaranteed unemployment would not exceed 8%, would you have called him a liar?

4. If a previous president would have played golf for thirteen weekends in a row leaving it up to congressional leaders to deal with the greatest financial crisis since the great depression, would you have considered him disengaged and out of touch?

5. If a previous president had criticized a state law that he admitted to never even reading, would you have thought him an ignoramus?

6. If a previous president had passed an unconstitutional law that would have comprised of nearly 1/6th of the country’s entire GDP, forced Americans to purchase a private product (in violation of the commerce clause), fined them if they didn’t, hired 16,000 new IRS agents to enforce it, and exempted 1500 organizations from having to abide by that new law, would you have thought him a mafia boss?

7. If a previous president joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in America to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration, would you have questioned his patriotism and priorities and wonder who his allegiance was to?

3 million seniors to lose their existing drug plans? [Omamacare Outrages Seniors!]

Say, I seem to recall someone saying that under his plan to overhaul the American health-care system, if people liked their plans, they could keep them.  Of course, this is the same man who spent last Saturday scaring Grandma about how Republican proposals to privatize part of Social Security would ruin the really great government investment strategies that have SSA producing prodigious amounts of red ink now and, well, for the foreseeable future.  Grandma should be more worried about the bankrupt promises of Barack Obama on ObamaCare, as it appears over 3 million seniors on Medicare drug plans will have to look for other choices:

More than 3 million seniors may have to switch their Medicare prescription plan next year, even if they’re perfectly happy with it, thanks to an attempt by the government to simplify their lives.

The policy change could turn into a hassle for seniors who hadn’t intended to switch plans during Medicare’s open enrollment season this fall.

And it risks undercutting President Barack Obama’s promise that people who like their health care plans can keep them.

Obama WH knew drilling moratorium would cost 23,000 jobs

Remember in December when the White House said it would make a “hard pivot” from health care to jobs?  That “hard pivot” didn’t materialize until months later, and in a completely different form than one might have assumed.  The Wall Street Journal reports that the Obama administration’s moratorium on drilling in the Gulf cost Americans 23,000 jobs — and that Barack Obama knew it when he ordered it:

Senior Obama administration officials concluded the federal moratorium on deepwater oil drilling would cost roughly 23,000 jobs, but went ahead with the ban because they didn’t trust the industry’s safety equipment and the government’s own inspection process, according to previously undisclosed documents.

Critics of the moratorium, including Gulf Coast political figures and oil-industry leaders, have said it is crippling the region’s economy, and some have called on the administration to make public its economic analysis. A federal judge who in June threw out an earlier six-month moratorium faulted the administration for playing down the economic effects. …

They show the new top regulator or offshore oil exploration, Michael Bromwich, told Interior Secretary Ken Salazar that a six-month deepwater-drilling halt would result in “lost direct employment” affecting approximately 9,450 workers and “lost jobs from indirect and induced effects” affecting about 13,797 more. The July 10 memo cited an analysis by Mr. Bromwich’s agency that assumed direct employment on affected rigs would “resume normally once the rigs resume operations.”

NASA Outreach Program ‘Confirmed’ Despite White House Denial, Rep Says

Call it a failure to launch.

The White House is disavowing a plan to have NASA conduct outreach to Muslim countries, but a congressman who talked to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden about that plan last month said the initiative was very real until somebody slammed the brakes on it.

Rep. Pete Olson, ranking Republican on the Space and Aeronautics House Subcommittee, told FoxNews.com that Bolden described the outreach program as part of the administration’s space plan during a conversation they had in June.

“He confirmed it to me,” Olson said. The Texas Republican said he thinks the program existed until the “uproar” compelled the administration to rethink it.

Why immigration? What About the Oilbama Spill Crisis?

Atlas Shrugs

Pamela Geller

I am sitting here chuckling. Forgive me, but that has been my recent response when listening to Obama’s speechifying. I am somewhat surprised at my recent response to his outlandish rhetoric, but he makes such a mockery of his very words, of America, capitalism, etc… that he is, invariably, comical. I have come a long way from when I would listen with trepidation and fear for our nation, so under his spell was America. But he is a clown. And folks, if they listen, can’t help but see it.

I listen now to his speech on immigration, lecturing us, yet again, on what America is … as if he had a clue, his contempt for us is so palpable. As if he had any respect for American exceptionalism, individual rights, entrepreneurship, privacy… As if he had a clue as to why legal immigrants Obama_golf come here — to escape tyrants like him.

He is reciting Emma Lazarus’s poem  “The New Colossus,” which is engraved at the base of the statue of liberty, and he thinks is somehow making history — how can you not bust a gut? He prides himself on being post-American.

I understand why he must ram immigration through now. And why he is taking this on now after destroying the American healthcare system. He has no shot of re-election without an illegal base. It is his only motive, but I digress.

I want to know why the executive in chief has not been holed up in a war room 24 hours/7 days a week for the past 72 days with the finest scientific, oceanographic, energy, etc., minds, to solve the oil crisis.

This is a catastrophe of unfathomable proportions, the decades-long repercussions of which have not yet begun to be understood or calculated. Why isn’t Obama attached at the hip to BP executives and every oil specialist in such matters, working on the “leak” until it is fixed? Why weren’t the best brains in NASA brought in — as opposed to Obama’s redirecting their efforts to “help Muslim countries”?

What about the Gulf? What about those people, those communities? Whole swaths of coastline, entire towns, counties may face evacuation.

Why are the images being hidden from view? Why are folks prohibited from certain areas? Why isn’t there wall-to-wall on-scene coverage, as there was of the Valdez oil spill — which looks lilliputian next to this Obama disaster?
